Congratulations to our 2016 award winners
Seattle Chinese Women’s Club has been a major establishment in the Greater Seattle area since 1951, and founded Seattle Chinese School in 1966. Its impact on the Chinese community includes 8 enrichment series in 2016 from vegetable planting, cooking, wellness, technology training. Its Youth Scholarship program has awarded over 100 students since the inception 30 years ago.
The club also serves as the backbone for Chinese community events such as annual summer picnic and holiday celebrations when multi-generations of families. While the club is led by a great group of women leaders, its activities are open to all. |
Northwest Chinese School was founded in 1995 and specializes in Chinese language education. This organization hosts 58 Mandarin Chinese language classes for all ages, including adults.
Its impact goes beyond educating our Chinese and Non-Chinese community Chinese language, it celebrates Chinese culture with enrichment classes in Chinese painting, art, violin and performance dance to youths, and Taiji classes to the teachers and parents. Northwest Chinese School is accredited by the Northwest Association of Accredited Schools (NAAS). |

About the awardThe Greater Seattle Chinese Chamber of Commerce is proud to present the Impact Award program. This award recognizes business owner(s), staff of non-profits, or government agencies for their contribution to the Chinese community in the Greater Seattle metropolitan area.
Who can be nominated?We search year round for companies and individuals whose business or individual actions have made a positive impact on the Chinese community in the Greater Seattle Area. Use the nomination form above to tell us more about who you think should win the next Impact Award.
Nominees can be a business/organization or an individual. The company or organization nominated must be located in the Greater Seattle Area, but not necessarily be owned or operated by a Chinese. Individual nominees also do not have to be ethnic Chinese. Throughout the year, stories about the nominees will be shared with our general members.
