2009 Court update: Miss Chinese Seattle Queen Cynthia Vuong will compete in the 2010 Miss Chinese International Pageant to be held on Nov 5 in Tianjin, China. The Chamber would like to thank Delta Airlines for donating airfare so Queen Vuong could attend this event.

Special note from Queen Vuong: I have watched Miss Hong Kong and Miss Chinese International pageants since I was a little girl with my grandpa. I've always dreamed of being a part of it myself, and now my dreams have come true. I'm really excited to represent Seattle this November 5th in Tian Jin, China. The girls will first arrive in Hong Kong to prepare for the pageant and fly to Tian Jin for the actual pageant. I've been to China a couple of times before but this will be my first time visiting both Hong Kong and Tian Jin. These girls are gorgeous and tough competition so wish me luck Seattle!

scholarship2About the Scholarship for Women Program

The Greater Seattle Chinese Chamber of Commerce has been a part of the Puget Sound community since 1963. Our goal is to promote a positive image of the Chinese Community.

Over the years, our role has grown from a strong advocacy for local Chinese businesses to public relations. We are also the proud sponsor and organizer of the Scholarship for Women Program.

Every year, the Scholarship for Women Program educates thousands within the Puget Sound region about the importance of Chinese heritage, culture and tradition. Through this goodwill competition, the program allows the opportunity for the young female participants to compete for scholarship funds to be applied towards their continuing higher education.

The winner will represent Seattle at the Miss Chinatown USA Scholarship Program in San Francisco the following February.

In 2009, the program was held on July 11th at the Bellevue Meydenbauer Center.
