Chamber establishes disaster relief fund for Japan
The Seattle Chinese Chamber of Commerce Foundation has set-up a donation account at U.S. Bank in an effort to support the victims and relief effort underway following Japan’s deadliest earthquake & tsunami on March 11, 2011.
Anyone who wishes to make a donation can do so at any of the 3,031 U.S. Bank branches across the United States.
The Seattle Chinese Chamber of Commerce Foundation will forward 100% of the proceeds from all donations directly to the American Red Cross. This is not the first time that The Greater Seattle Chinese Chamber of Commerce has stepped forward with disaster assistance. It coordinated the Hurricane Katrina Fund Drive (Oct 2005), the China Earthquake Fund Drive (May 2008), the Taiwan Typhoon Morakot Fund Drive (August 2009), and the Haiti Earthquake Fund Drive (Jan 2010).
The Seattle Chinese Chamber of Commerce Foundation is a 501(c)(3) public charity and is part of The Greater Seattle Chinese Chamber of Commerce. The Greater Seattle Chinese Chamber of Commerce was founded in 1963 as a nonprofit organization in the State of Washington.
